Joanne House Lighting Up Futures?

Kenya Power connection to The Joanne House

Lighting up a rural Maasai village this summer was something we never could have expected! While goers made substantial construction progress on the Joanne House in our village in Amboseli, Kenya, they also brought light and hope to those in need. With gratitude to our generous donors, electricity was brought and lights will now shine in the village of Okelnyiet for the very first time. iwilgGO also welcomed our first visitor to The Joanne House; Rachel J. from New Mexico State University, who led a Women’s Business Seminar. She led 6 modules covering business basics for our micro start up Women of Maasai Entrepenuerial Network (W.O.M.E.N.) It is critical to teach business principles to the women prior to igniting their W.O.M.E.N. business model to achieve sustainable success. A few of our W.O.M.E.N are now enrolled in Sewing College with goals to start production on beautiful items – personally crafted by Maasai women – which will stock the W.O.M.E.N. managed Boutik at the Joanne House, which was visioned and constructed this summer. Light shines in many ways, and you can feel the palatable electricity around The Joanne House as we continue to GO, work, and focus on alleviating poverty in this rural area. Your generosity is leading to equal and higher education for all, job opportunities for local mothers, and personal advancement for many in the village of Okelnyiet. Please think about joining a Kenya trip with iwilGO in 2020; meeting the Women of Maasai, living locally, exploring Kenya wildlife, learning the Maasai culture, and most importantly, changing lives along the way.

Consider giving a gift so that we are able to complete the Joanne House in July 2020. Join us for a magnificent Joanne House Celebration, lighting up futures for the children of the Maasai for generations to come. GOGive ❤️
