We teach Maasai women both the technical skills needed to master a trade and the professional skills required to run a business. These ladies are LOVING their first sewing lessons on their new manual Singer which iwilGO provided and set up thanks to our partner Lady•Biz. Once they have mastered the machine, they will be trained on patterns for feminine hygiene products and items specifically designed to represent their Maasai culture and be relevant in the African and Western marketplace. Their office is set up and sewing lessons in place. It’s time to GO ❤️Sew, learning and working to alleviate poverty!
In many countries, female entrepreneurs are denied the resources they need to start businesses or create jobs which will strengthen their communities. iwilGO is helping to empower these Massai women in Amboseli by creating opportunities for them to be trained and to build successful businesses. When women are empowered to participate in their ecomony they invest in their families and communities. This translates to more children in school and more opportunities to alleviate poverty long term.
